Medicolegal

Dr Tziotzios provides expert witness reports in dermatology, with particular expertise in hair and scalp disorders.

He also has a research interest in contact allergy and polysensitisation, and currently leads a large-scale genetic study of allergic contact dermatitis. This expertise is relevant to cases involving occupational dermatitis and reactions to cosmetic and hair products. He holds an MPhil in Bioethics, which informs his opinions on consent and standards of care.

He accepts instructions in:

• Clinical negligence (breach of duty and causation)
• Personal injury
• Condition and prognosis

He acts for claimants and defendants and as a single joint expert. All reports comply with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules and its Practice Direction.

Industry advisory

Dr Tziotzios advises pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on dermatology, with a focus on alopecia and inflammatory skin disease.

He previously worked in Discovery Biology in the pharmaceutical industry and remains actively involved in basic science and genetic research. This gives him a working understanding of drug development from target discovery through to clinical trials. His advisory work is also informed by his experience as national Chief Investigator for phase 3 trials in alopecia areata, and covers:

• Advisory boards
• Target identification and validation
• Clinical trial design
• Drug development strategy
